Unlucky driver to rest for up to eight weeks

You certainly need luck in the racing game.

Just ask injured Bendigo reinsman Chrius Svanosio, who was unfortunately injured in a race fall at Mildura Harness Racing Club’s media meeting on Thursday night.

He suffered a broken shoulder and was released from Bendigo Hospital on Saturday afternoon.

Doctors said he had suffered a snapped collarbone and during an operation a plate was fitted into his shoulder and 10 screws.

He’s on the mend but it will be eight to 10 weeks before he will be back in the sulky.

Aside from missing out on several drives for the night at Mildura, he has certainly missed out on one big winner.

The next day after Mildura he was scheduled to drive for Kent Hartley at the Charlton meeting.

He’d driven GoforZoe in a trial but because of the injury at Mildura he was forced to handover the reins to another young driver in Grant Comensoli.

Goforzoe lived up to trial form displayed with Svanosio in the sulky by winning at Charlton at the outsider odds of $56.50.
