Wentworth Hospital Good Friday Easter Media Appeal has kick started with their annual “Bus Run” last weekend.
Hospital appeal supporters were Karen Behsmann and her daughter Lizzie Behsmann, along with Craig Clyne, Judy Lamb, Ann Stone, Emily Holland and Sonya Golitschenko.
The tour of the Pubs at Wentworth, Dareton and Gol Gol resulted in collection of a figure of around $1,143.70.
Appeal volunteer Karen Behsmann said that Hospital staff and other supporters would this year be manning the Abbotsford Bridge on Thursday night rather than on Good Friday itself.
Scouts from Wentworth and Dareton will be conducting a door knock in both towns on Good Friday morning while the Curlwaa Scouts will conduct a tin collection on the Darling River Bridge at the entrance to Wentworth township.
A collection will also be made in the Gol Gol area on Good Friday with the Appeal
Red Cliffs Fire Brigade will be raising money for Jacaranda Village and could hit the road soon after 7am on Good Friday.
Merbein Fire Captain Trevor Wilcock said about a dozen senior and junior firefighters would canvas the town seeking donations for the Chaffey Aged Care Centre for three hours from 9am to midday on Good Friday.
For the second year running only limited fundraising will take place at Pooncarie as the Menindee to Pooncarie road has been closed by floodwaters for at least a month and there is no through traffic.
The same road was closed for five months last year.
Details of the Appeal can be heard over HOT FM and 1611AM Old Gold from 8am Good Friday to 2pm when the football broadcast begins.
