Dareton Police are investigating a break and enter in a house at Wentworth on Saturday night.
Police said that about 9pm on Saturday a man had entered a house in Darling Street but was disturbed by the home owner.
The thief then threatened the woman with a mop.
He grabbed the ladies purse, which contained a mobile phone and a sum of money before running out the back door.
A Police search of the area failed to locate the offender but investigations are continuing.
