Mildura East and Mildura West were both let off the hook by their opponents in SCA First Division cricket on Saturday.
East was 7/103 against Merbein South but was saved with a 44 run 8th wicket partnership between veteran Brett Higgins and Fab Farley.
Then Farley and Mathew Hunt put on 37 runs for the 9th wicket before East was all out for 184.
Aaron Finch was out in the second over of the innings for a duck with Merbein South 1/17 after 10 overs.
Captain Adam Thomson is 11 not out and Mark White is six not out.
Mildura West recovered from being 7/70 against Coomealla Wentworth before Chris Williams rescued the team with two lower order partnerships.
Williams and Brent Johns hit up 73 for the 8th wicket while Williams and Shane Driscoll added 98 runs for the ninth wicket, of which Driscoll scored 21.
Irymple openers Jordan Payne and Jason Bruhn set their side up for a good score with a 75 run partnership.
But both batsmen went out with the score at 75 with Irymple losing 10/96 to give Workers Gol Gol a target of 172 to win.
From two overs captain Simon Groves and David Scammell survived and they will resume next week at 0/2
