Mildura United and Irymple Knights lived up to the pre-match hype of The Grand Game of the Week in the Football Federation competition played in front of an expectant crowd on Sunday.
In the Senior Men's Knights came out of the blocks strongly and were peppering the United goal but they were not first to goal as Steve Lucas found the back of the net.
Knights scored twice but in the second half but United equalised and were in attack and just missed when David Morello saved as the whistle sounded.
Three Colors returned to form with three goals against Mildura City, which scored its only goal late in the game.
White Stars scored just before half time against Nichols Point and then held on in the second half for a morale boosting victory.
Knights were simply too good for a gallant but totally outclassed United in the Women's competition
Three Colors Gold and Nichols Point were two goals each at half time before Point scored in the second half to win while Mildura City scored three goals in the first 20 minutes to demoralise traditional rivals Three Colors.
